Just a few months ago, Apple turned down Meta’s plan to incorporate their artificial intelligence chatbot Llama into the iPhone. Sources are cited in Bloomberg’s coverage of this.
The March meetings between the two companies were short and to the point. At roughly the same time, Apple started talking to Google and OpenAI about integrating their ChatGPT and Gemini into their products.
Sources also said that the iPhone developer scrapped plans to integrate Llama due to concerns that Meta’s privacy policy was too lax.
According to Bloomberg, ChatGPT is seen as the optimal solution by the Cupertino company. Since Google technologies are already integrated into Safari, Gemini integration is highly probable.
Apple and Meta reportedly discussed forming an AI partnership, according to a previous WSJ report. The article states that in order to give customers the option to select a chatbot, the firm is in talks with other artificial intelligence developers, including Google, Anthropic, and Perplexity.
Never forget that in June Apple unveiled a massive Apple Intelligence initiative and announced the integration of ChatGPT with Siri and other services in the iOS, iPadOS, and macOS operating systems.
