Cryptocurrencies Stolen by Indian Authorities Were Helped Trace by Binance

Indian law enforcement agencies have revealed that the scammers behind the project passed it off as a gaming platform. E-Nugget was a platform that gave everyone a shot at making quick cash with cryptocurrency.

Customers of E-Nugget were unable to access their funds because the platform was down, thus they did not receive the promised profit. Members of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought advice from Binance cryptocurrency exchange specialists in order to trace the missing monies.

It was with their assistance that the bitcoin wallets of criminals linked to multiple cryptocurrency exchanges were located. Storing stolen coins was done by fraudsters using dozens of accounts.

The wallets of the attackers were frozen and their funds were transferred to a government-issued address as soon as they were identified. A sum of $19 million was confiscated from the criminals’ possessions and bank accounts.

Officials from the ED noted that they first learned about the E-Nugget platform two years ago, and that in that time they have discovered thousands of fake bank accounts holding over $2 million.
