Premier of an African nation introduces first-ever “cryptocurrencies”

On the occasion of the ceremonial ruler Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s 25th anniversary, the Ghana Postal Company introduced their first “crypto stamp” not long ago.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ruled the Ashanti people for twenty-five years after becoming Asantehene in 1999. Traditionally, a golden chair called the “Sika ‘dua” serves as the seat of power.

Ghana Postal Company crypto stamps honoring His Majesty’s reign have been dedicated to commemorate this momentous occasion. Minister of Communications and Digitalization of Ghana, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, commended the Postal Company for their creative holiday celebration.

She emphasized the ways in which cryptocurrency brands integrate cutting-edge technology like blockchain with their deep cultural roots. Tagged by Owusu-Ekuful:

We take great pride in our nation, and this commemorative stamp reflects that. Our rich cultural heritage is the bedrock upon which our nation’s future is constructed; it is a constant reminder of the inseparable bond between our traditional values and our wild ambitions.

Ghana Postal Company Managing Director Bise Osei Kufour has reaffirmed the firm’s dedication to technological advancement. Under his rule:

We recommit ourselves to being innovative and exceptional in preserving and sharing our country’s history with the world by introducing commemorative (cryptocurrency) tokens today that commemorate His Majesty’s reign.
